I am a Ph.D. student working on Invasion success of Ageratina adenophora, which is a neotropical weed in Asia.
Ageratina adenophora is a perennial forb native to central Mexico and is invasive in subtropical climates in Africa, Australia, Europe and India, China and the Philippines in Asia. It is rapidly expanding in invaded ranges and is establishing dominant monocultures there. Ageratina has spread rapidly in the states of Uttarakhand, Hiamachal Pradesh and Meghalaya in India. My work involves investigation of invasion mechanisms at two different sites in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
